What types of X-rays can ReadYourLab analyze?
ReadYourLab supports single-image plain radiographs: chest X-rays (PA, AP, lateral), extremity X-rays (knee, ankle, wrist, hand, foot, shoulder, elbow), abdominal KUB, and pelvic films. We accept JPEG, PNG, and single-frame DICOM (.dcm) files. For multi-slice CT or MRI scans, use the DICOM scanner page instead.

Can I analyze a dental or panoramic X-ray (teeth X-ray)?
Yes. ReadYourLab reads panoramic dental X-rays (OPG / orthopantomogram) and other teeth X-rays, and returns a plain-language report covering missing, impacted, or unerupted wisdom teeth, dental implants, crowns, fillings and root canals, possible cavities, bone loss, and cysts around the roots. This is an AI screening overview, so always have a dentist review your X-ray and confirm any findings.

How accurate is AI X-ray analysis?
Your X-ray is read by a frontier, medically trained AI model that identifies common findings such as pneumonia, pleural effusion, lung nodules, cardiomegaly, fractures, and dislocations; we move to newer models as they prove better. AI is not a replacement for a board-certified radiologist, and a single X-ray view has inherent limitations (overlapping structures, projection effects, subtle findings). Image quality matters too: a photo of a screen or a printed film limits what the AI can see, so upload the original file when you have it. Can I upload a phone photo of a printed X-ray?
Yes. The AI works on JPEG and PNG images, including phone photos of printed films or screen captures from your patient portal. For best results, photograph the film against a uniform background, in focus, taken straight-on without glare, with the entire image visible. If you have access to the original DICOM file from the imaging center, that gives the highest accuracy.

What does the X-ray report include?
Each report contains: a plain-language explanation of what your X-ray shows, severity-coded key points (urgent / warning / normal), clickable bounding boxes on the image pointing to each finding, a clinical summary with findings and impression in standard radiology terms you can share with your doctor, and suggested follow-up questions for your next appointment.

Is there a free trial?
Yes. Your first X-ray is analyzed as a free trial: you see the plain-language preview of the report at no cost, with no credit card required. Unlocking the full report — findings highlighted on your image, the clinical summary, and the follow-up chat — is a small one-time package that covers up to 5 X-rays and never expires. See pricing.

Is my X-ray data private and secure?
Yes. Your X-ray is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256). We never sell or share your data with third parties, and you can delete any X-ray and its report anytime from your account. ReadYourLab is GDPR compliant. Read our data security policy.

Can the AI replace my doctor or radiologist?
No. AI X-ray analysis is a triage and education tool, not a medical diagnosis. A single X-ray view has limits — overlapping anatomy, projection effects, and subtle findings can be missed even by experienced radiologists.
